I have 3 plants with the first male flowers opened up and the other 2 larger plants will probably follow with opened flowers in the next few days. It will be a few weeks on a fruit set. Nathan told me it is often a little difficult to get sets on grafted plants. I want a good sized plant before I get a fruit set anyway. I am not sure where I would be able to take a melon if it was already set. It would probably be finished growing by sometime in mid to late July.Hopefully I will set some melons starting in about another month.

I saw the first female ovary today. It is on a 171 Masterson and it has Strongtosa roots on it. It will still be several days before it blooms. Even it it sets, I will not keep it for a competition melon. And I expect it to be a few more weeks before I see any more come along.
