Is there a great difference, in product, between what you put in the soil for 'kins and watermelons? want to try a watermelon. soil is close for kins. thanks for the help in advance.

If its close for kins, your in good shape for melons. Melons seem to need a "little" more N after fruit set than kins. I think the reason is that most growers don't train the vines like kins. There is a lot of plant growth going on all season.

I like slow release nitrogen for melons,cotton seed meal is my favorite.
