50 plus degrees yesterday and I went over to Accobonac harbor to walk the beach...waded in up to my knees in January in winter....go figure....

I think it is too bad that a mild start to this winter does not mean we will also have a mild end to winter. You just never know what may be in store. Even the so called experts do not have much of a handle on it.But we would do good with a few really cold days down here as it would help reduce insect and disease problems for the coming growing season.

Mark, you come haul yours past here and give me warning, I'll fire up the grill and do unto some nice cornfed teebones alright. And make sure the fridge has lots of beer.

It's not THAT long to season again; I'm due to start sticking cuttings and seeding starter flats next week. Coldframe stuff the week after that, and some tomatoes the week after that. What cabin fever? My quilting season is getting shorter every year. Sigh.

Its all good here no cabin fever,we dont even have snow.I turned my leaves yesterday with the loader in Jan.lol.Should be frozen.The worst winter in 50 years is looking pretty mild.I'm still hoping for some 0 degree days 20- would be sweet I need to kill the cooties if Im growing a big KIN.I hear ya, theres not enough time in the day.Does this bad prediction by the X spurts mean the worlds not ending this December.lol Remember Y2k those same people will be watching for Armageddon come December.LOL

They called for the worst winter in Chicago in fifty years!If Chicago gets it we get it 4-5 hrs later normally.If I was as wrong as the X-spurt forecasters,I would be a weatherman.lol

Whatever meteorologist said worst winter in 50 years is obviously not a good one. Words like that shouldn't even be in their vocabulary I don't like how it takes credibility away from people who are more accurate. There were just as many meteorologist calling for warmer weather.

-18 for me with the wind here in wisconsin.it makes it hard to think of spring but i am.im building a greenhouse in my room right NOW! ill just sit in there and watch my giant onions and carrots grow till spring!!!.LOL
