Dang it! I had that happen once. Last year I started keeping mine in the freezer. I use a cake pan with a metal lid with lots of tiny holes drilled in it to keep seeds in until ready for the freezer. Initial drying is done on the porch with 2 cats standing guard... :)

My boys just gifted me with a dead treerat today... don't want to part with them though, they do their job very well (no rodents, treerats, or feathered dinosaurs)...

I have many cat's here too. With more showing up all the time. THey must be to well fed, as they have not gotten all the mice. I lost my entire sweet potato crop again. THe darn voles get every one. I am done growing them for a while.
