I was wandering when I should pollinate a female flower if I need a mature watermelon by September the 11th. Also how long should my main vine be on my watermelon before I pollinate? Thanks for the help Jeff

I'd pollinate as soon as possible. Not sure about your climate, but watermelons will "keep" on the vine a long time. I Don't think distance on the vine is so important, but select 1 or 2 nicely shaped fruits that are growing the fastest, and cull all the rest.(They like to hide under the leaves!)
