Could a watermelon vine be grafted to a fully grown giant pumpkin plant? Also it would be interesting if you could set a watermelon on it. Maybe watermelon would get a lot bigger that way.

Sorry,I think technology will have to advance tremendously for that to be possible. I don't know if anything like that is possible and I would be very surprised to see it in my lifetime. The genetic variance is so big and I have never heard of a fruit being grafted onto a different plant much less a plant of a different kind. Sounds like "lost In Space" stuff to me.It would be nice though. lol

It could to a seedling, but not a grown plant, too big a vine size & you need a controled enviroment for the graft to take. summer outdoors isn't controled ;) The curbits do graft to each other from what i have read. Most watermelons grown in asia are grafted.

I recall reading about the Asian grafts. They are for better disease resistance if I recall properly.
