I'm trying to decide if I should set fruit early and have a younger plant during the season, because it is hard to keep one healthy later in the season down here(heat+humidity) or should I wait until the plant is bigger to push it more? Just wondered what square footage you guys like to pass before setting fruit.

dont really know but i would think at least a 10x10 plant before I would, lets see what the X-spurts say!!

Hey Jake, not the expert but here's what I found with my early plant this year. The first wave of females were not as nice as the later ones when the plant was larger. Maybe if you get a good female early go with it, cause you can cull it a grow a better one if its present later.

Set them all & take the best ! You never know when you won't get another chance with the heat were are having.

That sounds like a good plan with a good consensus. Ditto Kirk don't care what the Altanta news says. All three of my thermometers can't be wrong.

It's been 98 the last two days here in Minnesota. That's pretty high for us. I will take it, but that doesn't make it anymore uncomfortable.

no rain here for 2 weeks now. we are low 90's so not too bad. Would like a nice slow rain if thats possible? Don't need no storms, had enough of those this spring.
