when you guys get ready to do your crosses (pollinating). what do you do to the female bloom. do you cover it the nite before as well as the male. I know i will have to cover all of them because i have thirty hives of bees on this feild and forty in my back yard. If I make a cross and keep the rest of the melons pulled the one i hand pollinated would be that cross regardless of what the bees pollinated on the plant later is this correct

Cover the night befor, but do not restrick the flower from opening. Cover some male flowers as well (the ones you want to use. When you make the cross recover the female flower again (24 hr.) This will give you a pure cross.
