I have done this w/ pkn seeds, but first attempt w/ filing & soaking part w/ melon seeds. Have germ box at 91 F...should i crank it up? When filing, do the same rules apply...look for color to change twice? How long to soak? Would guess shorter soak than pkn seeds!!! All help appreciated, and wish me luck!!! Peace, Wayne
BTW, starting line up will be 291 Kent, 285 Edwards, 239 Leonard, 239 Zuerner, 178 Mudd, 35 Kent!!!!

Crank up the temp to 96-99.

I soak only 1 hour. Just file a little to help the shell come off easier. Not really much color to change.

my first time too. I didnt file first batch. would not come off, had to use mini pliers. filed second batch, came off much easier. my temps were up there too. 98-100

Well, had the itch...and couldn't wait...so seeds were lightly filed, soaked approx 1.25 hrs. and put into starting mix w/ mycho (2pm cst) at approx 95 F!!! Peace, Wayne

PPS...Chris, 35 Kent is one of the up ones!!! as are 291, 239 Zuerner, 285 Edwards...waiting on 178 Mudd (think I see a lil movement, and 239 Leonard!!

If the weather is nice(no rain) get them outside in the sunshine ! That 35 kent is my best plant, take care of it !

8 am Wed. and now 5 of 6 are up and under lights...still no 239 Leonard, but it's still early (knock on wood) !!! Seed coats still on 3 of 5...should I try & peel em off? Will see sunshine in the am!!! Peace, Wayne
