Hi all,
I was chatting to a few members on the live chat forum earlier about the TV show that I am working on and they suggested that I post a message on here.
The show I am working on for the BBC is a brand new Saturday night entertainment show and I am looking for contestants to take part who have unique and interesting hobbies/talents/skills and thought the fruit & veg growing community may well be interested.
The style of the show shares similarities with You Bet which used to be on ITV in the '90s, as well as a German show called Wetten Dass and an American show called Wanna Bet (for all of which clips can be found on YouTube such as this one - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DpstRrvJOuw) which will give you a good idea of what we are looking for.
We aim to display and celebrate people's unusual talents and skills and we are particularly looking for people who have the ability to demonstrate their skills under the remit of a 'challenge'. Some examples from similar shows include a guy who could tell the artist and album of a CD by licking it with his tongue, someone who completed a Rubik's Cube underwater with one hand, a JCB driver that was able to dress & undress someone with the machinery, and a Smurf figurine collector who could identify each one by its shadow alone.
Essentially, the tone of the show is 'pointless, but brilliant' challenges.
We welcome anyone to apply who has a fun and wacky idea for a challenge with their watermelons. I think it would be excellent entertainment value for the show and fun for you guys too.
It does not necessarily have to be a challenge with watermelons, other fruit varieties welcome too - we are the BBC after all - so impartiality must be adhered to :)
