Is it right, that I need pollen from a different watermelon plant to pollinate watermelons because watermelons can not self pollinated?

You probably read it in my tips sheet. I have had problems getting them to self pollinate, but others said it works just fine.

We have never had a problem with selfing them & the same goes for Bill Donkers (best melon man in Canada). I hope this helps.

KGPG Growers seminar this wknd, and Chris(Superman) Kent, said over & over again for awl to try and control pollinations!!! Melon flowers open later in the am...9:30 to 10:00 or so, depending on heat where you are. Point being, that for melon's to keep on growin bigger...controlled pollination needs to part of everyone's growing plan!!! 1810 pkn, dint happen w/ open pollinations!!! Know what I mean!!! Peace, Wayne
PS...see, I was listening!!! LOL

We need a couple good videos of different growers pollinating for others to see and what they should be looking for when and what time of the morning the pollin from the males is ready. I know how to tell when the male and female flowers are ready, just can not seem to get the pollin to take for some reason.
For those who have success tell us what methods you use.
