Minnesota Melon Man

Rochester, Minnesota

I know my last name isn't Kent, but I do have watermelon seeds available. To be honest, they were the best plant structure I have seen ever, but the weights just weren't there. The good news is that there is Kent on either side of these.

193.0 White 10
150.5 White 10

Let me know if anyone needs any.

Please include me, thank you. Send me an email with your address for the bubble, thanks. I will be honest, a few might get auctioned and some given away for others to give it a shot... depending on how generous you are. I certainly would like to at least try myself :)

James, what was the cross's on the 150.5 ??
Did you know the GPC has your 193 listed as being grown from the 359 kent ;) I think that should be 259 , I won't have a 300 lb one till next year ! LOL

White 193 2010 is White 2009 #2 x 243.5 Kent. I offer this one because it produced probably the best plant I have ever seen in my garden. I did not take any melons to competition last year, but my #2 plant had a strong plant structure, and good melon.

White 150.5 2010 is 259.2 Kent x Open. This produced a shorter melon with a 65 girth. I might try this one or revert back to the female. The plant wasn't as hale as the 193 even though it had prime garden position.

I really look for strong plants with big stems.

I should comment that Open in my garden isn't a bad thing, since all my plants genetics were high caliber.

I have no doubt in my mind that the 300 pound mark will be crossed in the next two years. Probably at the same time the 2000 pound pumpkin mark is crossed.

I also suspect that somewhere in the name will be a Chris.

I just put in my paperwork to change my name to something with Chris in it.

Wasn't superman named C. Kent?
