I have never felt this way before. I think I have saved the plant after all the rains and is putting on new growth. The melon is 50 days old now and not sure how much more it will grow. I have had them grow 82 days before and shut down at 45. Its straight length is 34.5 and cir. is 83 as of last Thursday. Still 5 weeks to go but I am scared to measure now for the next few days. I have never felt that way before but I have never had one this long before off the 267 Edwards.I guess I think it will just stop like the 179.7 did for the fair.It was averaging only 2.7 pounds the last 20 days. I feel I will put a hex on it if I measure.

Rob my otts are the highest at 177 ott = 179.7, 184.5 ott= 165 pounds 183 ott = 165.5 pounds have been my biggest. Just can not get to the next level. soil is OK, weather could be better.Just the time it takes is my main issue. Still I happy with what I grow from 145-180 pounds are nice.

I was afraid to measure also, but I did the other night. They are not as large as I dreamed them to be, but they are on good plants and I suspect they will be bigger once they are done growing. :-)
