What has to be different in the soil for watermelons? I am only familiar with the soil requirements for pumpkins. Does the PH just have to be lower?
Sorry I am asking so many questions all at once. I just need to figure all this stuff out and order some soil amendments before school starts and I will not have much if any free time.

Ok,Thanks. It will be easy then I will use same soil test as last year since new patch will be within 25 ft of the older patch.

When God gives you sand, you grow watermelons. My garden was fill pulled out from the digging of a pond. When I started it was basically sandbox sand. That's what I grow my melons in. It provides really good drainage.
