With a CC if I get 90days out of the melon the plant is ussually a skeleton. Eatin melons maybe.

kirk-yes it can be done -if you have new growth coming out ,last year after I pulled one the second one got to 80Ilbs,JUST DURING THE growth of the new melon you water alittle more staying away from the stump.good luck-ps .matter of fack I`m doing alittle experiment with that now i`ll keep you posted Rob

It sure can't be done in Minnesota. About the same time the first melon is done, snow starts flying. Well, almost as soon.

Brr. I wouldn't be able to live any further north than Ohio. Way too long of a winter.

Actually winter is nice. It's great having a time when you can't, and I mean absolutely can't do much other than throw a piece of wood on the fire, pour a big beer, and sit and watch the latest Netflix. It's a nice feeling.

I know what you mean MMM . i have 5 small melons on plant rite now 2 about 10" and 3 smaller ones i still have not convinced myself to grow one of them out. better make up my mind pretty soon!!!
