Subject: Chewed through vines

Some animal chewed through both vines that my giant watermelons were attached to. Any chance of keeping them healthy for a month? The leaves have already died off before I noticed the chewing and the vines are pretty limp.

They will probably keep in a cooler for a month as long as they are in real good shape right now.

Yes, if it not getting water from the plant, the best place is a cool place.

I ussually tilt mine up a little when in storage. They always rot on the bottom first so I try to keep it from laying flat on the floor to allow for circulation.
