I think it is 168 Johnson crossed with 157 bright. The 168 Johnson has grown many 200+ melons. The 157 bright grew the world record and another 262 by the Bright family. The 255 has great genetics.

Thomas did you order some seeds? I ordered some from P&P the other day. Their web site shows the cross.

I did order them and it says on P&P that it is 168 Johnson X 157 Bright and that the 157 Bright is the same seed that grew the Bright's world record melon but what I remember is Brights said that the world record was grown on a Bower seed. Here is a link that shows it also, so I was just trying to get it clarified. http://www.bigpumpkins.com/MsgBoard/ViewThread.asp?b=1&p=190529 Whatever the cross on the 255 it is a good seed for sure! Now if I could only find a couple of the 267 seeds.

Oh yeah I also have a few of the 168 Johnson seeds to grow again next year so hopefully I can get the early start next year and make some nice crosses. The 168 Johnson I have going now is about 160 lbs, but is open pollinated, but I don't have but a few good plants that it could be crossed with so it should be good also.
