I haven't heard much out of this one yet. Does anyone have good ones on the 267. May be some keeping quiet.

I have a 267 Edwards & the plant started out as one of my best plants. As of today it’s my worst. Not saying it’s the plants fault I have 3 melons on the plant, 115 lbs open, 75 lbs open, & 100 lbs X the 239 Leonard (these will be a good cross). I never could get one to set until late which is why I have 2 open pollinated fruits. So when they showed up, I left them. The controlled cross was last but is a short fat butterball melon. So I just left them all since none were going to be contenders. The plant has bad disease problems so the fruits won’t grow much more. The flowers I saw & tried to set were small & short, like under 2cm & curved. I wish I had seen one like the open fruits.
Ok, the good parts are…. Very long stems all have 4 to 5 inch stems. Was a very good growing plant with
A large main vine. The vines with fruit also grew to end up as large as the main vine. The 2 open are nice shape long fruits.
I’ll be interested to see what others got from this seed. I thought it had great potential !

All that said, i did use it to pollinate my 213, so that should be a good cross too. I hope someone has a good one from the seed.

The large plant size probablly come from the 255 genetics, they grow huge plants. I had similar problems with the 251 Mudd. It had a big strong plant but I couldn't set a long melon for a while. Once I did it was about to late. I have seen to many people having good luck with the 267 but you never know who is in hiding. Which ones are doing the best for you? The 197 Mudd and the 255 were my best this year. The 197 didn't get the big early numbers like the 255 but has been a hardy plant that has been steady and consistant.
