Today I started my first ever batch of compost tea. I put in some well composted cow manure, alfalfa pellets, dried molasses and some fish emulsion.I used a five gallon bucket and purchased a air pump,some plastic tubeing and a air stone at the local Wally World. I was just wondering what ingredients others on this forum prefer to use.I know worm castings are very good but I am not producing any yet nor did I find any for sale locally.

I found worm castings at Walmart last year but not this year. Make sure your air is sufficient. There is lots of info on the compost tea board. Good luck

TD...lots of info on compost tea...lots of different recipes, available on this site...on the compost tea board....near the top I think!!!
PS...from what I have read earlier...get rid of the stone...buy another pump or two....big bubbles and lots of em!!! I brew in a 10 gallon can and run 2 90 gallon aquarium pumps, and prbly don't have enough air goin!!!
PS...Mrs. Bend....I be thinkin dat the Hooks have all worm castings w/in a 500 mile circ. in their patch awlready!!! LOL Peace, Wayne

Guys, I went to the compost tea forum and noticed a lot of brewers use humic acid.I went to the online catalog for my local co-op & it seems they don't sell it.Can anyone tell me where I can buy humic acid?

Mr Peace, that is the truth, my worm guy told me all about two guys that come every year..wonder who that is/was?? The worm man is out of raising worms, now he buys and resells. Heard you had a big en growing...any truth..

Mizz Bend, the truth is probly in the "had" part of yer question!!! I seem to be at the malfunction junction again!!!! Glad black and white are my favorite colors!!! Oh, wait a sec, that is just one plant, and i do have 3 others still growing nicely, if I can only figure out what happens at the 30 day after pollination point...I might find a new favorite color!!! I wish you good luck Wayne. I hope you get rid of the skunk hat but I hope its not on my head. LOL! The Hicks don't have all the worm casting. I found plenty they just cost. I been gettin them by the TON!

I believed so much in worm castings that I have begun a business with it. I've sold a ton recently to a grower at a great price because he's one of us die-hard pumpkin growers. I like helping other growers. Prices are as low as 25 cents a pound! I have several ways of packaging and shipping. Its the same castings as Soil Builder brand and I'll sell to growers at a great price if they're interested. I can sell generically for less than the brand name. Email johntheworm@castawaycrawlers.com if you want. I bet you nobody sells these castings cheaper.
