I am a bit hesitant to tell this story. That is because it doesn't reflect well on my intelligence. I have done a bit of research on the internet on what might help plants to grow a little bigger or faster or better. Several months ago I stumbled onto gibberellic acid. I read what I could about it and finally decided it might work well on watermelons and so I ordered some.I had 10 VERY nice plants I had set out into my garden in late March. I was proud of these plants and thought I might be onto something really good if I could get extra fast growth out of them with the giggerellic acid. Well I used it on them and indeed a day later it seemed they were getting a nice growth spurt. Another day and I could tell they were distressed. And a day after that I could see they were all going to die.

I did manage to get ten more plants growing and they are just now getting to the point where the others were when they died. I have always heard that late melons seem to grow faster and bigger than early ones. Perhaps I will be better off in the long run. At least I will know to never use this stuff again on watermelons. I am writing this because I hope it might help someone else to avoid the same mistake. I have some pretty nice cantaloupes growing in the lower part of my garden .... hmmmm I wonder if ... ?

T. Dreamer...I have read of others on this site using Gibberillic Acid...but not as a growth enhancer, but as an agent to help older seeds thru the sprouting process. Best of luck to ya!!! Peace, Wayne

mega grow is a product that contains a percentage of gibberellic acid in the concemtrate.
if used according to directions it will not harm the plants.
your dose qty may have been lethal?
