My largest mellon has not changed in ott in the last 5 days. With pumpkins this usually tells me something is wrong. It has been very cold here the last few nights. No frost yet but close. It is suposed to warm up today and be nice for the next week. Most of the leaves before the fruit have died back. There are still good leaves after the fruit.
There is still a couple weeks until the weigh off. Will the melon start up again or not. I believe I should leave it on the vine. What are peoples thoughts on this

My thought would be to keep it on the vine....also look to see if there are any problems from the stump to the watermelon along the vine. If not, then feed it hard with fertilizer to milk what you can. Good luck.

When the weather get's cold, I will up the nitrogen content. That seems to shock the plant into giving a little more growth, but it's hard to deal with the decreased temperatures and light levels.
