Should we uncover our melons now ? Dry days, highes around 80, lows around 56. Would the sun at this point help or hurt? About 2 weeks to go till weigh off. Thanks.

That's a great question. I haven't uncovered mine as of yet, and I wonder if it would help in keeping away rot. But I haven't had rot in September, so it's a problem that I haven't had to solve yet.
I do worry about uncovering them in fear of attracting deer, turkeys, or human passerbys. All can be a problem for me right about now.
So...I Haven't uncovered mine.

HOLLOWAY, Slowed down alot. Lets just say over 200 lbs by the ott charts. Trying not to jinx myself since i lost my 1000+ lb pumpkin. Every day i look at it and debate ...pick,grow,pick,grow.

I understand, I always under estimate so I don't get my hopes up. I think when to pick is always hard. Maybe I can get another pound or two, but what if it rots? It looks like your going to have a nice melon good luck.
