I have a jubliee fruit that is getting soft on the end.

Does that mean it is going to rot?

It is firm on the rest of the fruit.

I am not familiar with Jubliee, but yes, if it's a watermelon it's rotting. But you probably know that by now since they go down quickly.

I have had some that were softer on the blossom end. Like they didn't get pollinated good or not enough water at the beginning. They weren't really soft but more leathery. They made it to maturity but were stunted on the blossom end. If you can push on it and it breaks the skin then its a problem.

Ive grown Jubilee and havent had that problem. Just how soft is soft?? Like Holloway says, if you can push on it and it breaks the skin, well I reckon that one is going down hill.

I've pushed on it and it hasn't broken.

I have a picture of it I am going to post.

What watermelons I usually get end up rotting so I'm hoping this one doesn't rot.

It's the biggest one I've ever grown (for some reason our garden which we have been using since 1994 has never produced a mature, ripe watermelon and I try water melons every year)

That looks like blossom end rot. Ussually lack of water or calcium deficencies.
