I will be hosting an ,,International Watermelon Weigh Off,,,2008 in Frankfort Ohio,,its already a Sunflower festival ,,but would like to co/host with watermelon growers to try and inlarge the festival its self ,,,,this post is to try and get and idea ,,of how many of you would bring a watermelon,,,This is open to anyone ,,,,,So if you think you would bring one ,,please ,,give me your opinion,,,,DATE OF CONTEST WOULD BE labor day weekend ,,,every September,, on that Saterday ,Cash prizes up to 10th place,,,,(and ribbons for everyone ,,who registers,,in advance)this also will be a GPC SITE ,,SO YOUR WATERMELON WILL COUNT TOWARD GPC,,,,,depending on how it goes ,,,,might add tomatoes and cantalope the following year,, Thanks Rob

as of right now sounds like first prize would,be 2$a lb# 2nt would be 1.50 lb# 3rd 1$ lb,,,,7-10 50$,,,,but not bad for a watermelon ,,,plus bragging rights ,,,best I can hope for first year out <<<<just hope I can get enough people to make it worth wild ,,,,,

one per person,,so if you and your wife or child, wanted to bring one, thats fine ,,but no more, then two per family,,but to be fair ,,,,it sholud be grown from that person!,,,,,,more imformation ,,,will be posted later in the year ,,,after I ,have had to time to meet with the festival,,,Top three watermelon ,,will be donated to the festival and auctioned off ,,,,seeds will be divided between the grower and the bider,,all growers ,,,must donate 50 seeds to the,,site ,,,after drying ,,,,so we can build ,,,a bigger ,,,,show for the following season ,,,,,,another words ,,,introducing more growers to the sport. this.
