Watermelons require almost exactly the same fertilizing and watering methods as pumpkins. I use miracle grow 17-17-17 on my watermelons. But you can use anything that works on pumpkins such as 20-20-20, 10-10-10, or any other balanced water-soluble fertilizer. I hope this helps.
Good luck

Oh yeah , I almost forgot. Don't over feed your plants I almost made that mistake my first year growing pumpkins. But fortunatly I backed off enough where my plant was able to rebound. I usually use about 2 gallons weekly until the vine is about 6 feet long then I step it up to four gallons around the stump and up and down the main vine, and secondary vines. As the plant grows larger very gradually step up the amount, but not necessarily the concentration of the fertilizer.

Try to pick a loooong one. It will get alot bigger. Careful not to step on the vines, they grow almost like a mat.... Foliar feed with some seaweed and fish, calcium and all that jazz. Drench with some good tea.

I just planted 3 of them Andrews watermelon, 77.5's or 71.5, something close to that weight.(Gotta look at the tag outside). Since them are special watermelons I wonder if Id have to use anything at all on em? Glenn?
