What is the best way to tell if a watermelon is ripe? The packet says 95 days, which is any day now. The packet also says when bottom turns yellow and the tendrill nearest the stem turn brown. The tendrils have been brown for about a week now, but the bottom is not yellowish. Any help?

Here is a good way to keep track of your melons daily growth. http://www.melonman.com/Site/ShowBigPic.asp?Pic=Art12_4b.jpg
The main website is http://www.melonman.com
I have found that you can keep track of when it stops growing by watching your daily growth or just checking every few days.

I had the same thing happen to my Carolina Cross Watermelon. But it is still growing a little bit. I think they're ripe when they stop growing for about a week.
