I'm trying to find any additional information about the Texas giant pumpkin recorded at 1689 pounds. I don't see a date, and the article seems to be a rumor versus fact.
Thoughts?

Image says 2023 so I'm guessing this isn't legit. Definitely wasn't taken to a gpc weighoff

If the State Agriculture Department accepts a pumpkin as a State record, I feel the State doesn't care if it’s GPC-sanctioned.

i 100% agree. lots of folks seem to think that in order for a fruit to be official it has to be weighed at a gpc site, which isnt true.
