I'm new here so if its an obvious answer forgive me.

I'm a veg grower looking to get into growing giant marrows, I'm from the UK and have tried to find seed online but I'm not sure if the quality of the seed is really worth buying.

I know people work had on their genetics/ breeding so I'm not looking to rob anyone's recent hard work just finding it really hard to find seed that has potential as I dont want to waste my time growing bad genetics. Here in the UK you can grow a lot of other veg for show & finding the seed is no where near as hard so I don't want to waste a good couple seasons on marrows with bad seed.

I know there are auctions in January but to have everything resting on an auction that doesn't sell loads of seed seems risky.

I could be totally wrong, probably am. I would love if someone could just point me in the right direction.

Hit up anyone one here. Seeds should be free if you pay for a couple stamps and an envelope.:)

I've never heard a " NO " from any of the top growers when emailing them and nicely asking for a seed or two. Unless they're are running low, they'll send you seeds.:)

I support the auctions and pay for seeds because I know its helping the clubs.

Always great, sound advice from Chris. There is a “marrow board” just below this one and lots of marrow growers in the UK.

Thanks for the help North Shore, I was thinking to myself why I didn't put it in the marrow thread. I guess I just didn't want to be asking for seed & clog the good information thats on there.
