If you have seen my diary I have been charting the growth of my Florida pumpkin friend Tim Canniff as he has been growing my 839 seed. ( Pretty cool that the Florida state record is 840). Florida Growing posts many challenges for a Atlantic Giant. Yes the temps can be about perfect but the extremes of wind and rain certainly beat up a plant. I think Tim is at day 66 and he is ready to pull the plug and see what she weighs. "Sadie" the pretty lady as he calls her. Will a young pumpkin go lighter than one that sits in the patch for 90 days and more??? Lets guess the WEight. Closest ones over or under wins. I will check with Tim and I am sure, if he gets the seeds, they will be the prize and I can add a couple of 839's and maybe an autographed pair of Porkchops nylons that he uses to support his maters. Lets see if Tim will claim a new Florida record !
