My dog died after he ate my cat; My wife left me; all my pumpkin seeds got moldy; my well dried up; my car broke down; I'm out of coffee; the TV went south; my roof leaks; my Christmas tree caught fire; I could be fired any day now; I'm bald, and my right shoulder is killing me.
So, please don't bid against me!

Garwolf, sorry.. keep living, think about pumpkins.. You can get the remake of the 1885
REMAKE of 1885 Werner 1361 FRIEMOOD 2022 (1501 X 2112) Lot 30 of the Spanish Auction. :) But surely the electricity goes out, and you can't bid on it... hahaha

Remakes are worthwhile… two that come to mind right away are 845 Bobier ‘00 (same cross as 723 Bobier ‘99) and the 1989 Daletas remake of the 2145 McMullen. The 845 was arguably better than the original, as it grew 2 world records, although the 723 was more consistent producing 1000lb+ pumpkins back when 1000lbs was a big deal.

If your wife left you, then you have more time for the patch, so not all is lost. Sorry to hear about the dog.

Rmen - please don't add to my list of troubles - LOL
First thing on the agenda was to go get some coffee, but if the electricity goes out I'll have no way to brew it. That might send me over the edge.
I'll be watching both the original and the 2.0 version of the 1885. I fear it will be to rich for my blood. Maybe Little Kins (Gritty) will buy 2 and send me one. :)

How about a 1625 Gantner... I might have two of those :) The 1885.5 is special but some of its progeny look like they may be good too. If anyone wants to send me an 1889 Lidberg or progeny that would still be ok with me :)

I count 9 1885 crosses with other big pumpkins in tonights auction. There's more in tomorrow nights auction. A lot of 1885 genetics in the mix this go round.
Certainly with all the bad luck I described above you folks would keep the bid prices low for me - right?
The list doesn't even count Rmen's prediction that my electricity might go out.
