Ontario, Canada.

Cool another Ontarian. Yep, I started my first seed soaking this morning. Hope to pot it up in the morning. Burlington is a fine location for growing. I used to live in the Headon Forest area for 14 years. The last frost is usually much earlier than the 24th of May. Protection from the Niagara Escarpment and Lake Ontario is a fine gift to farmers and gardeners there. Burlington and the Niagara penninsula is at least 1 full zone warmer(6A or B I think)than the surrounding area. In Barrie we are ccccccold in zone 5a only 45 drive away. While I will battle numerous frosts for the next month you will be troubled only occasionaly. Set up a hoop house or cold frame and its grow pumpkin grow.
Have you done a soil test yet?

Won't be starting until the end of the month. I'm just north of Lindsay, Ontario and it sure doesn't pay to put them in too early. I picked up 2 more loads of 5-6 year old manure this morning, giving me about 18 yds of manure this year. Hopefully the garden will be dry enough to till next weekend. Good luck to everyone in the upcoming season. I hope everyone grows a new PB.
