Well my 1446 Eaton split on it's blossom end last night. Today was day 40 for it and had a cir. of 140". It's now officially 629 Hunt/05 DMG (1446 Eaton x 1420 LaRue). I will harvest the seeds out of it soon. I can't tell you how disappointed I am, but it happens from time to time. Hopefully I can keep the others going.

Thanks guys. I patched it up yesterday just to keep it for a few days longer. I'm not in the mood to harvest the seeds just yet. The hot weather will make it rot pretty fast though. Hopefully it'll keep until the weekend.

John The pumpkin was still a very light colour and it was very long. The skin still retained a young look to it. It was a shame to loose it as I think it could have easily reached 1000#.
