I remember Martin asking for our goals for the season. Now that it is over, it would be interesting who actually reached the goals one set for himself. I`ll start.
235 kg (518 lbs) ... This is by far better than I ever could have hoped in my first season. I would have been more than happy with anything over 150 kg. I`ll go for +300 kg in the coming season. I want to thank all growers who gave good advice or offered or shared their seeds with me.

I wanted to grow a 200 kg pumpkin. I had one weighing 206 kg.
Next year I would like to get one over 250 kg, but my aim is 300 kg+ which I think is a reasonable aim considering the benefits of my new patch.

I have had the same goal for the last 2 years in a row. I missed it this year by 7.1 lbs. Next year no more goals, just the biggest I can grow.
best wishes to all for the same thing.

Hallo Heino,
My goal was to grow a pumpkin over 105 kg: last year local record. I succeeded with 226,5kg: more than doubble. And more that tripple than my PB of 2004: 63,5kg.
Next year I go for 300+, may be Dutch champion?
What will bring life next year? Provindence will know...
Something about seeds, I opened the 219kg orange beauty: 569 seeds, handpollinated from which: 108 seeds were bad/flat 156 B quality 275 A quality 30 excelent quality
tomorrow my 226,5 champion will be cut: 11.11.2005 St Martinus, that is our local 'Haloween' light feast day.

Yes and no,
I was aiming for a personal best and for 300 kg. Personal best has become better. I was just 3.5 kg short for the 300 kg mark.
Any way I am very satisfied.
For 2006 the goal will be 300+

Fellow Europeans, you see there is going to be quite a race in Holland (and other countries) to beat 300 kg. May the best grower win! Best of luck to all of you. Owen, good luck with the 800 lb mark.
