Börje, congrats on your 1061 Gustavsson 2005 UOW!

I am sure if you get a better shaped fruit next year you will be able to hold it together and you will then break the European record of 1036 lbs!
However, you will then need to find a certified scale in order to get an accurate weight for the official record.

If I am not mistaken your 1061 Gustavsson 05 UOW is only the fifth pumpkin over 1000 lbs ever grown in Europe! The others are the 1036 Perez 03 (E), the 1032 Perez 03 (E), the 1027.5 Boudyo 04 (F) and your 1000 Gustavsson 03 UOW (S).

I think your fruit is not only the biggest UOW pumpkin ever grown in Europe but it should even be the biggest UOW pumpkin ever grown outside North America.

By the way, what is the official Swedish record? Is it still the 756 Gustavsson 2001? Or did another grower surpass this record in past years?

Yes Martin, the 756 Gustavsson 2001 is still the official Swedish record. The year before the official Swedish record was 216,5 kg (476,9 Gustavsson 2000) and the seed was from the Dill 875. This pumkin splited after 36 days and stopped growing after 43 days. The pumpkin was growing 12 m out from the stump. The mistake was that I after 35 days cut of several 30 kg-pumpkins and after that it splited. The 476,9 Gustavsson was growing 12 m out from the stump and the seed was germinated April 5 and the pumpkin was pollinated June 15. This pumpkin was also growing on scales. The difference between my scales and the certified scale was only 0,5 kg.

I forgott to write that the pumpkin weight was 226 kg when it stoped growing. Since it toke me one month to find a certified scale the weight decreased from 226 to 216,5 kg.
