After Getting my soil test results back in Sept Ive been working teh soil pretty good to get my numbers up/down were they should be.
Whats been added.
Double dug entire patch 3 lbs Granular limestone 3 large bags of PeatMoss 5 lbs Sulfate of Potash 8 lbs Jersey Greensand Tons of Mulched Maple leafs 4" of Sheep / Goat Manure mixtured compost and a covercrop of Oats / Winter Rye.
Been raining the past day and a half so this should get things working in the soil.
Next soil test will be taken in Late Sept with a final one in April before Plants go out in May.

no gypsum? It sure helps to break up the clay & keep it from re forming into clods. Good for the calcium too.

Ya i really wish I would have gone with Gypsum over Granular lime just for the main reason that my PH is already on the high side, think with the double digging along with lime , Greensand ,Peatmoss, the clay should break down well. we will see. if not then next year i'll add Gypsum

On another Good Note, before planting the cover crop I lightly tilled the upper surface of the soil when spreading the seed and the WORMS are back in the patch, All summer I never saw one single worm and dureing my double dig patch prep not ONE worm, since all the OM has been added all the worms seem to be comeing back :-)
