Im sure everyone is tired of looking at soil reports, but I would really appreciate help on this one. These results are for my home (main) patch which is 25x40 and will be home to only a 582 Hester, assuming it germinates and all the good stuff. Just a quick note on A&L Labs. I mailed my sample on April 13th and had the results via e-mail on the 19th. Not a bad turn around. Ok here it is.......

3.2 for Boron wow that way above the normal. Some of your micronutrients are way high. It will tie up your balance. What did you add to this patch?

Salts are high & the BS percentage of calcium is under 70%.

So blast it with Gypsum to correct both & your jammin'!

Am i the only one that thinks N is too high? one year i was at 125ppm, and my leaves were so dark it was insane. YOu're more than twice that.

As a matter of fact I was getting ready to buy a pallet of Gypsum. Most of it would go on my remote garden but was thinking about putting a bag or two on the home patch. I think they are in 50lb bags, so how many bags would I need to "blast" this 1000 sq ft area?
Last fall I put on 1 pick up truck load of Horse manure, 1 pick up load of compost, 4 (i think) loads of leaves. This spring one (maybe two I will check)more load of Horse manure and one of compost.

You might try to water a bunch and leach some salt and nitrogen out. Is VH the same thing as ppm?

It was 4 on the leaves last fall and 2 loads of horse manure this spring. Before I got my test back I was thinking that I hadn't done enough...LOL! I hope Scott isn't right about the N being dangerously high.

VH is the code that A&L uses for "Very High"..LOL!
Everything is in ppm.

Hey Mike......You may want to lend an ear to our grower Quinn. When he got to about where you are he found he got better results by reducing the building excesses to some level determined to be maintenance. I commend you on the build. The patch reads very nearly to being one of the best in the nation. Now you just have to grow in it to see what will produce best for you.
....Oh, OK my two cents on gypsum. 1 50 lb bag. Your salts is a goes with related to your own building program. I would not over apply gypsum. That salt will leach out and be tied up somewhat by the gypsum.

AGRO-K's product Symbex 4 is designed for exactly where you are. It does a lot of getting the patch all fired up and ready to go. Your early growth may be a little slow with the N being tied up by this springs additons. If that might be the case you could add Alfalfa Meal or Blood Meal could be a nice way to get a little early N working. After the patch warms up you will have lots of N.

Getting your fish, kelp and molasses foliar both in ground and on leaf will help you keep those bacteria fat and sassy alowing for some run-off to the patch.

Now your challoenge is between you and the management of that patch. Good luck. Grow that sucker big. Don't turn your back or pick up the soap in front of that 582. It could be dangerous and insulting. :)
