0-0-50 is a synthetic. Over use is very easy at that strength. Some use will excite growth but not necessarily complete and ballanced growth. Many a pumpkin has been blown up, literally destroyed, by over use of this specific treatment.

You are seeking good healthy plant products with the first to items. There are nice healthy patch products that can feed consistantly and safely. Look to Fertrell Products as well as many other organic leaning type sites for a good replacement for that 0-0-50.

Sorry I missed my last suggestion....Go to North Country Organics. They are in your part of the country and have excellent products. I find them most helpful when I raise a question. You ask the question. I just waved a red flag as a possible big problem in your program.

Sulfate of of Potash (0-0-50) is harvested from Brine Shrimp that are grown in floating lagoons in the Great Salt Lake. It is considered Organic by the OMRI (Organic Materials Review Institute) & is approved for use in all Natural Organic produce production.

You might wish to contact Brent Richey at:

Send him an email & see if he'll ship 50 lbs your way. About $30 with shipping I think.

My only comment was that the mix is far stronger than most would suggest. Improper and careless use is possible with organic fertilizers.

A general rule of thumb for organic or healthy considerations would be that the three N-P-K numbers being applied at any one time not exceeds 10. Using that guideline 0-0-50 might be a little strong.
