I got my soil test and my calcium is at 1838. I here it should be around 3000. So my question is how to raise it up? I was thinking oyster shells but how many per 1000 sq ft? Pleae help.

Please don't try to take a ppm and raise any level, you need to look at your soil test as a whole, so many levels will affect others. If you have a soil test report, send it to me and i'll read it for you and make recommendations. Tom tprivitera@optonline.net

Oyster shells are nearly pure calcium carbonate which means they are a liming agent. If you ph is low they will help but like Tom said you need to look at the whole picture. Referencing a single nutrient and forgetting the others is like asking a mechanic to fix an engine noise but you only brought him the tire.
Tom will steer you in the right direction. send him your test.

I would just use garden gypsum. you can find it for like $5 a 50lbs bag. who know what they may be puting in wall board, don't think they have pumpkins in mind when there making it:)
