Whats the best way to lower my PH 7.5.I added 30 yards of grass & leaf compost over summer as a weed mulch.I just tiiled in 20 yards of 10 year old horse manure with saw dust which is totally broken down.My patch is 8,000 sg. feet.SULFUR???? or is there a better way.

Lots depends on your CEC. I've tried lowering mine. But with a CEC over 50 it's not worth it

your cec is fine pumpkin weights: 1579, 1544, 1500, 1475, 1428, 1425, 1367, 1294 If you are not getting the results you would like your cec and ph are not the problem

MChad, if Hhg's cec & ph are acceptable, and I know this is going way out on a limb (without a full soil analysis)...what would you guess is needed? Peace, Wayne

My guess is more organic matter I added 50 yds this year to about 7000 sg feet.Which should lower ph & raise nitrogen. My nit in soil was 36.0ppm I added compost with a 907.3 ppm.Is 36.0 low? does any one know?compost ph is 7.0
