CEC and what does precent cation saturation (computed) mean and what does PH BUFFER mean. and guys what is a good shooting point for these ammendments. I know that a great PH is around 6.8 or 6.9 and a good Organic matter would be around 7% put how about these other ammendments. And before someone send me a link to an internet page THANKS, however I have done alot of reading and researching, but alot of stuff in for general crops, I would like you guys to weigh in because we are specifly speaking about GIANT PUMPKINS. P WB is an extraction method. Water alone doesn't extract P very well. NaHCO3 is another extraction method that uses an acid.
CEC (Cation Exchange Capacity) is (simplified) the soil's ability to give to a plant whatever chemical elements that become part of the soil solution.
Buffer pH is where the pH can be taken to.
Chasing target values are not good practice.Post your full test results & we can start recommending a "swing" toward some established desired goals.
