Any benefit to applying molasses as a soil drench this time of year? Thanks.

I guess it depends on the temperature outside. I put molasses down to feed the microbes. If the microbes are not active, then no point, but where I am, the daily temp is around 60-65 now, so things are going full steam ahead.

that molasses isn't going anywhere when the soil warms and the "hungry" critters wakeup they will find it, just another chore off the list, imo

I think if soil temp isn't up to approx 57 degrees and theres not much action going on in your soil you could be wasting it when it is diluted with rain water and leeches away . My opinion only Andy.

Thanks Carl,I'll probably wait one more week when daytime temps should be in the mid fifties to low sixties.

Would molassas help in the breakdown of tilled in sod/weeds? I know it jump starts bacteria, is there a simple answer? Thanks Croley
