I sent off soil samples to Cornell the other day to get a good idea of the soil quality I will be growing in 2008.When I get the results back is there a reference guide to optimum soil quality somewhere posted on this site that I can baseline my results too? thanks Bumkin

Bumkin,
You're on the right track. Let's not screw things up by finding a "perfect" reference soil & trying to create it.
For years folks have asked for a "reference standard" soil to shoot for but that's not a good idea. Soils vary by region so they are best dealt with individually.

Thanks for the Reply Tremor. I really would appreciate if you could analyze my soil test results when I get them back. You definitely know your stuff as I have read a zillion posts on this site with your recommendations always right on the nose. Thanks again Bumkin
