PH....6.1 OM....11.8 P.....215 K.....500 Ca....1450 Mg....330 Cu....3.4 Zn....23.0 Fe....125 Mn....43 B.....0.5

This is all in PPM.

My PH is better than I expected as the norm around here is generally 5.4 or lower. I'm really digging the OM reading but after that it's looking a bit backwards. The Ca is low and my Mg is not bad but my K is through the roof if you use the 75-15-5 rule (Ca-Mg-K) Is there anyway of increasing my calcium and reducing my pottasium at the same time?

Thanks,
Chad

Tremor

Pumpkins will lower the potash. Add Calcium by using calcitic lime (lower Magnesium) to lower the pH. The CEC will dictate how much lime you need to apply. The rest of the calcium may be applied with Gypsum. By not applying potash the ratio will get closer to the goal you listed however unimportant I feel that the ratios are.

chad, i use a product called calpril to raise my ph with out adding magnesium . nicer to apply than dolimetic lime as well. then add your gypsum to get your calcium up like tremer mentioned. you might have special order the calpril. craig

Chad, Craig is bang on with the calpril, easy to use and does the job really well.

You should be able to get it from Evergro/Westgro, the website is http://www.growercentral.com/

My local garden centre special ordered it for me as it is not something they normally carry. This company is a wholesaler and will likely sell to the guys/gals you buy all your other products from for use on the potatoe farm.

They also got a bunch of turface for me that I applied last year....great stuff too.

Do a search for products on their website and then give them a call or email them to order.

YIKES! I typoed. I said " by using calcitic lime (lower Magnesium) to lower the pH." I meant use Calcitic lime to RAISE the pH without adding more magnesium. It looks like that Calpril is calcitic lime.

I kind of figured you had Tremor, but thanks for the clarification.
