Ok as the title says i had to pumpkins going on the same plant and had to make a decision to cull one. They both were pollinated on the exact same day one on the main vine, one on a secondary. The secondary was growing faster but slowed down and ran even with the main vine pumpkin. At 16 Dap i started the cull on the secondary, finished it the next night at 17 Dap. Now my keeper which was growing fine is no longer gaining much at all down to about an inch a day from 10-15. Any ideas?

Yer main started slowing down also...you just didn’t notice it...pumpkins can abort up until day 20 as a rule and sometime up til day 30...pics of the plant could help...thoroughly investigate the main...review what has been done to the plant over the last 20 days, check that against soil test numbers, tissue test can help...strong dose of food can cause aborts...sorry about the luck

Well i sure hope that inst the case but if it is i pollinated another today that randomly showed up wont be anything crazy but i have time to get it bigger than the first 2. I'm gonna track it until Sunday and see how she does. i have also kept a very detailed daily log on my phone so i would know everything i did if anything i eased up on fertilizer hear lately waiting on the new batch to come in. i will start a diary to show photos

Any disease issues on the plant ? yellow vine disease can and will stop all growth. Inspect the entire plant and main vine as chop said above. also, if you have any bugs around, that could be an issue with disease.

Vines seem to be super healthy and putting on lots of length. I had two svb grubs early on but i caught them early and removed them with success. That was before i even pollinated.

Any luck with either? Culling sometimes seems to invite bad luck upon the remaining pumpkin... Been there & know how it feels to gamble and lose.
