How are all you new guys doing!?

I have a 17DAP on my 874.8 geyelin. She's about the size of a large football (soccer ball). I haven't measured her yet as I don't want to scratch her. If she keeps growing I shall have to adjust the temporary shade I rigged up for her. I tried to pollinate her sibling plant yesterday morning (at 05.45 am before going to work)as I still haven't managed one on that plant yet!

I have three plants, they are the 1546 Shenoha 13, 312 Weibel 13, and 430 Breznick(sq). The 1546 and the 430 were attacked by seed corn maggots on the 15th of July and lost the fruits due to rot. Also, the 312 Weibel x 695 Johnson has rot around the blossom end with a 1/2" hole all the way into the pumpkin and also large splits a 1/4" wide in the same area. Packed the area with Biomin Calcium Soluble Powder into the hole and the splits, hope this helps and I hope I will be am to harvest some seeds if the pumpkin keeps growing and it has so far slowly! Also, 1546 and 430 has a lot of new growth and new fruits! 1546 Shenoha x 685 Janowick, 430 Breznick x Open. :[ :)?

I hv 4 plants growing. Im in ca. Have one that measures over 300 lbs. Others are around 150. Had a bad case of spider mites so some of the plants dont look so good.

Another learning curve, but still got one kin over 700 lbs, various others in the 600 and 500 pound range, we shall see what 7" of rain pans out for them. :(

I have had very good fortune in this my 3rd year to this point. I started with 6 plants and now I am down to 4. I'm over my pb at 585 lbs and have 2 kins close behind that. My next goal is 800lbs. There is a loong way to go so I will try not to stress to much and enjoy the ride! Good luck to everyone

We have had very few 80 degree days this year and lots of 50 degree nights. My weights are way down, but I'm hoping for a long growth period.

Lost my two early plants that I had high hopes for to yellow vine. The two plants I planted late as an afterthought are growing well, but won't be anything to speak of. One I think is from what I've read on here a "wagon wheel"-good circumference but no length. The other started as a ribbon vine, but I let it go to see what would happen as it was getting too late to start from scratch. Ended up splitting into 3 mains when it grew out of it. Decided to let a pumpkin set on each vine instead of going for one big one in order to have some for this fall. Haven't taken any measurements, by guessing the wheel is around 200 lbs and the 3 amigos range from 100-150 right now. How big is your watermelon Claremoron? It might have mine beat as well, lol.

Claremon, if you are trying to grow a large pumpkin or at least go for the "pumpkin" state record, yes. If just having fun, that's your call.

Hi everyone! I'm very excited to join this giant pumpkin family. I have high hopes for next year already. Ordered seeds,books, prepared growing beds, planted cover crops. Now the waiting starts till next growing season. I do enjoy reading everyones posts both good and bad. So far I've aquired 7 seeds from Don Langevin/Annedawn publishing. My fingers are crossed.
