I am looking back on the season now and trying to learn and figure out what mistakes could have been prevented. This is the main vine on my 1674 which produced a 952 pound fruit that I was happy to get to the Frerich Farm weighoff. Did I interpret things correctly? I treated this as a normal main as shown in the photo. Did I do the right thing? Is it a split main? Any comments appreciated.

Looking at the picture on your diary it seems I had a couple like that. It really confused me at first but I just let them both go. Because I planted them back to back and they were in a limited sized area, I grew them each in a horseshoe shape. They both put out a 300 lb. pumpkin both of which I sold to the same guy. With the exception of one they were the smallest I had. Plants were beautiful! If it happens again I now know what I had and will prune one of the vines.
