I feel like a kid,the night before the first day of school..I know at least three of my friends will have well over 1000lb pumpkins tomorrow at Elk Grove, but I'm taking my 400 (est.) anyway.!!! I had so much fun growing it,and I learned a ton..I just wanted to thank all that answered my green horn questions, either on these forums or in person..I'm already looking forward to next spring.. thanks again,I LOVE this hobby..elk grove here I come. chuck e. cheese

Hey, Cheese!!! How did you do? I am only on year 2, but my 369-er got a 6th place at a weigh off last week-end. I LOVE the baby-giants, as I call them. (Of course, the old pros think we are nuts for enjoying growing the smaller ones.)

I ended up weighing 410.5 at elk grove.also with a 284 as a weigh only. I had so much fun,I got thumbs up on the way from everyone..People slowed down and were taking pictures with their cell phone..I made it onto our local news..I felt like a rock star..and everyone at the weigh off was so kind and helpful,it was just so exciting to be part of..It was a LONG day,but I wouldn't trade it for anything. Thanks again to all my pumpkin people.
