need some advice here please. i have a large vine that has/had some serious issues re the stump, have done some intensive nursing and thing a looking like the stump might / will survive. in the meantime i have been carrying 2 pumpkins because i didnt know which part of the vine was going survive. i am now approaching day 30 and both kins are doing well. i have decided to take both kins to the end... a big reason is because im scared to cut one off and have a surge into the other that might blow it.
my questions are...... can a vine grow two large pumpkins to the end (if things are done right)? if i cut a 30 day pumpkin off.... would i be risking the other?
i have done alot of work to save this years season and am now in unfamiliar territory. would like to hear from someone who has grown 2 pumpkins on 1 vine, and also someone who has cut off a 30 day old.
the vine is very large and has potential, just not sure which way to go safely. im not after a record just a PB.
thank you in advance

I grew 2 on one plant last year.one was on the main vine the other on a secondary of a 250 sq foot plant.came out with a 290 and 315 est.i cut the 315 off slowly so it wouldnt surge to the other one on about day 55.

I have grown lots of pumpkins same vine.same plant etc.I have never saw any growth rate change but cutting one off.The growth rate always stayed at the same progression it was headed.I truly dont think it matters at that point 30 days.It might have made a difference at 10 days or 14 but at 30 days I believe it is what it is.Just my opinion, not always fact.

thanks for the feedback, i also got a very interesting email from a chap that grew 2500 lbs of pumpkins (13) on one very large vine and achieving a state record from 1 of the pumpkins..... several years ago. a big thanks for that story. so i am now confidant to let the 2 grow and see what happens.
cheers
