we can help but need to see a complete soil test from your patch.here in rhode island we never see levels of potassium that high.
normally with a level this high you would need to raise the other levels but not sure without a soil test in front of us. if you have a soil test you can send it to me and ron and i will do what we can to advise corrections.
email me and ill get you my address papsbuick56@aol.com

Pap, you should encourage people to look at the base % saturation ratios more than the total ppm. 766 is way too much - not always. I have grown 1200+ in soil with way higher than 766 ppm potassium.

there are always exceptions. just imagine what that pumpkin might have weighed had the soil been in balance? will never know.

Darren, it really depends on the other levels, if everything else is very low, it can create a minor problem, if all of your levels are high, no big deal, its all about balance, not individual levels.

That is what I am saying Tom. Sorry to disagree with you pap, but I have had my soil tests analyzed by several experts, including chad revier and John Vincent who happens to be a certified crop advisor. ALL of my levels are high, but they are high and balanced. No doubt you have grown way bigger pumpkins than me but I am at a particular disadvantage in the sense that I choose seeds based on. Color and not size. Of course I am giving Ron's 1789 a ride this year so maybe we'll have this conversation again next year. Good luck! -Jim
