I am just learning to grow pumpkins and finished my first year. The nights are pretty cool down here as soon as it started to cool my pumpkin slowed way down. From what I am reading it appears the sweet 1605 or a pumpkin that has been crossed with it do well in the cooler temperature. I am not sure how to get any seeds at all, so looking for something special has me really lost. Any help finding a few of these seeds would be greatly appreciated.

Clubs sell seeds using many avenues. Several have web pages to just outright buy seeds from. Most will be updated with next years seed lists soon. Here are a few I'm a member of. There are tons more.
SOGPG (Southern Ohio Giant Pumpkin Growers) http://www.sogpg.com/2010-2011SS.asp
OVGPG (Ohio Valley Giant Pumpkin Growers) http://www.ovgpg.com/seedList2011.html
SNGPG (Southern New England Giant Pumpkin Growers) http://www.sngpg.com/
Some clubs offer a free seed pack with membership. The RMGVG (Rocky Mountain Giant Vegetable Growers) club http://giant.coloradopumpkins.com/
is close to you and has a real good membership package.
There will be Auctions held starting soon with many of the top desired seeds, but they aren't necessary to grow a massive pumpkin.
There will be many posts on the seed exchange board with tons of great seeds for the price of a Self Addressed Stamped Bubble Envelope.
Make a post asking for seeds you will get many responces.
GOOD LUCK, and welcome to the madness!

Ralph, I have 3 crosses made with the 1605 Sweet. I am a sweet also, but different grower than Ken. 849 PSweet 2011 is 1725 Harp * 1605 Sweet. 653 DSweet 2011( My Daughters) is 1605 Sweet * 1634 Werner. and 850 PSweet is 1634 Werner * 1605 Sweet. All great crosses, just not so good results do to weather and new planting areas that suffered from soil and low nutrients, per tissue tests. email me if interested. Petersweetjr@yahoo.com
